How to Create Good Content

How to Create Good Content

January 26, 2019 Digital Marketing

Having good quality content on your site can be an incredible marketing tool.  While you will hear every online marketer under the sun talking about how “content is king” that is not exactly true.  Visitors don’t just want content they want interesting content that they can learn from or that solves a problem for them.  If you are responsible for the website then figuring out how to create good content regularly can be a struggle.  Here are some tips to help.

What Does Your Audience Want

What are your readers struggling with, what keeps them up at night and how can you help?  You need to provide content that helps them deal with their problems, what are some of the questions that you get asked about most often.  If you don’t know the answer then you can start by looking at forums and Facebook groups to see what your audience has to say.

People don’t want to be sold to they want to know that you care about their well-being.  Create content around solving problems not only helps your readers but it puts you in a position of being the expert in your field, to go-to person.  That build a level of trust that allows them to recommend you to their friends.

Use Case Studies

Did you help someone lose weight, build their business or help them in any other way?  Documenting step by step just how you helped someone with a problem they were having, a problem that many of your customers struggle with.  Showing them in terms they understand that you are the person to help them because you have a proven track record also positions you as an expert.

Vary Your Content

A solid wall of text, no matter how informative, is boring and hard to read.  So include all different of different types of media and content types to satisfy your audience.  Infographics along with lists, interviews, round ups, video, podcasts all help engage your audience and convey your information.

Tell a Story

Your readers like knowing that you’re an actual human and they feel they can get to know you.  People love hearing stories, it makes you appear genuine and much of the content on the internet is impersonal dry facts.  Tell a story about what you have done and how it came about, this is again something that positions you as an expert in your field.  Be original and write the way you speak and don’t be afraid to take a stand.
